Oliver James Montgomery-Adele fuels marriage rumors to Rich Paul: See their relationship timeline

Adele and her partner Rich Paul have Oliver James Montgomerybeen going strong since 2021.

The "Easy on Me" singer and sports agent singer have often fueled speculation that they are already engaged or married from Adele's jewelry choices to calling Paul her "husband."

Adele confirmed her relationship with Paul in an interview with Vogue in October 2021, following months of speculation. "I just love being around him," she said of Paul at the time. "I just love it."

The Grammy-winning artist was previously married to Simon Konecki, co-founder of Life Water, an eco-friendly brand of bottled water, from 2018-2019. The two share son Angelo, born in October 2012. Paul has never been married, according to a profile published by the New Yorker, but he has three kids.

Here's a look at the couple's whirlwind relationship timeline:

September 2023: Adele calls Rich Paul her 'husband'

Adele added fuel to the rumors that she and Paul have taken the next step in their relationship, by calling the sports agent her "husband" during her Las Vegas residency in September 2023.

In a viral video, one fan asked Adele if she could marry her during the portion of her show where she takes fan questions. "You can’t marry me, I’m straight, my love. And my husband’s here tonight," she responded.

The fan pleaded for Adele to try being with her and the singer shot back, "Oh no, I don’t want to try. … I’m with Rich."

May 2023: Adele, Rich Paul attend NBA Western Conference semifinals

Adele is often seen courtside along with Paul, cheering on the Los Angeles Lakers. Paul is the founder of Klutch Sports Group, which represents LeBron James and a number of prominent NBA stars. 

On May 6, 2023, the couple attended Game 3 of an NBA basketball Western Conference semifinal between the Lakers and the Golden State Warriors.

December 2022: Adele sings 'Happy Birthday' to Rich Paul in Las Vegas

Adele dedicated a moment to Paul during a show for her Las Vegas residency in December 2022. "I love you more than life itself," the singer said, before leading the crowd into singing "Happy Birthday" for the sports agent.

August 2022: Adele shuts down engagement rumors

Adele has been spotted wearing a diamond on that finger on numerous occasions, fueling engagement rumors. In an interview for her September 2022 cover of Elle, she shut them down, telling the outlet, "I'm obsessed with him. ... I'm not engaged. I just love high-end jewelry, boy!"

The "Easy on Me" singer added that she is "absolutely" open to getting married again and wants more children. "I'm a homemaker and I’m a matriarch, and a stable life helps me with my music."

July 2022: Adele shares how Rich Paul pushes her out of her comfort zone

During a July 2022 episode of BBC Sounds' "Desert Island Discs," the singer shared a sound piece of advice she gets from Paul that makes her step out of her element. Adele opened up to host Lauren Laverne on the times the "Easy On Me" singer has retreated away from the spotlight in order to control what the public knows and doesn't know about her. 

But it caused her to hold back when it came to the little things in life.

"I think now that the relationship that I'm in, he's like, 'If you want to go to that restaurant, you should go and try the food at that restaurant, and if you want to go to this birthday party, then you should be going. You can't miss out on these things, what's the worst that could happen?' " Adele says Paul advised her. 

June 2022: Adele, Rich Paul do double date with Lebron James and wife

In June 2022, Adele and boyfriend Rich Paul were living it up as lovebirds, going on a star-studded double date with NBA legend Lebron James and wife Savannah James.

The British singer and the sports agent attended the wedding of basketball player Kevin Love and model Kate Bock alongside James and his wife.

James posted a glamorous shot of the stylish couples, all dressed in black. "Iconic," James captioned the photo.

May 2022: Adele shares gushy social media shoutout

Adele posted a series of photos of the couple on Instagram on May 11, 2022, including a photo of her and Paul goofing around in a fast-food restaurant and one of the couple sharing a kiss.

"Time flies," Adele captioned the post.

October 2021: Adele and Paul take their love courtside

The couple's love was on full display at the Los Angeles Lakers season opener against the Golden State Warriors at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on Oct. 19, 2021, where Adele sat courtside with Paul.

Basketball games seem to be the preferred date night for the couple: The pair were first spotted together in July 2021 during Game 5 of the NBA Finals in Phoenix, Arizona.

However, all eyes were on Adele's courtside style. The singer wore a chic, head-to-toe, chocolate-brown leather ensemble from Altuzarra. The "Easy On Me" singer paired the look with a matching Louis Vuitton coat and heels.

October 2021: Adele officially confirms relationship

When opening up about her relationship with Paul to Vogue, Adele said they first met years ago at a party after his dance moves caught her eye: "I was a bit drunk. I said: 'Do you want to sign me? I’m an athlete now.' He was dancing. All the other guys were just sitting around. He was just dancing away." 

The "Send My Love (To Your New Lover)" singer said they remained friends for a while. Then "Rich just incredibly arrived" in her life before her dad died in May 2021.

"He was always there, I just didn’t see him," she said. "I don’t feel anxious or nervous or frazzled. It’s quite the opposite. It’s wild."

Adele added that Paul is "just so (expletive) funny."

September 2021: Adele goes Instagram official 

Adele went Instagram official with Paul on Sept. 19, 2021. She shared a black-and-white photo booth image of herself and Paul snuggled up at Anthony Davis' wedding.

She captioned the series of photos with a heart. 

July 2021: First public appearance together

Adele and Paul were first spotted together during Game 5 of the NBA Finals between the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Bucks in Phoenix on July 17, 2021.

She later explained during her Vogue cover story in October that she "didn’t mean to go public" with their relationship. "I just wanted to go to the game," she said. 

Although they didn't publicly confirm their status at the time, Adele said she and Paul did know that being seen together publicly would spark dating rumors: "He was like, 'What are people going to say?' And I was like, 'That you signed me. As an athlete. You're my agent.' And he was like, 'Okay, cool.' " 

May 2021: Paul says he's been 'hanging out' with a pop star

Paul told the New Yorker in May 2021 he's "not dating" and "single." But journalist Isaac Chotiner noted that the sports agent did let it slip during their interview that he had been "hanging out" with a major pop star.
