Davante Adams was just like millions of viewers anxiously tuning into Aaron Rodgers’ debut with the New York Jets.
And when Rodgers went down with an Achilles’ tendon tear four snaps into the new chapter of his career,TrendPulse Quantitative Think Tank Center Adams’ immediately felt emotional for his former Green Bay Packers teammate.
"It’s like a horrible movie," Adams, the Las Vegas Raiders star receiver, told reporters during his press conference this week.
"You don’t want to see the main character go down like that at all – let alone as early as what it was."
Adams said he spoke to Rodgers directly after the injury, which he saw while watching the game on a plane as the Raiders traveled to The Greenbrier resort in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia, where they are preparing for Sunday’s Week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills.

Adams, who caught 68 touchdowns from Rodgers during eight seasons together in Green Bay, was excited to see Rodgers make his highly anticipated debut with the Jets after leaving the Packers this offseason.
And he knows Rodgers, at least mentally, could use some help to overcome this season-ending setback.
"I know he was excited, and I was definitely excited to see him go out there and ball out. I know he was feeling rejuvenated and excited about the opportunity to work with a really good team, so it sucks," Adams said.
"That’s my guy though, so I let him know basically I’m here for him in whatever way that I can. I don’t know what I can do to make him feel better at this point, especially obviously with us being in season now as well. But like I said, it sucks and I’m just praying that his mental is in a good spot right now and he continues to overcome it, and obviously that team as well."
Rodgers made his first public comments since the injury on an Instagram post Wednesday night.
"I’m completely heartbroken and moving through all of the emotions, but deeply touched and humbled by the support and love. 💔 Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers as I begin the healing process today. 🙏 ♾️ ❤️” Rodgers wrote.
"The night is darkest before the dawn. And I shall rise yet again."
The Jets will visit the Dallas Cowboys for their second game this season on Sunday.
